Pastor James Denny

The honorary title of Pastor Emeritus was bestowed upon Rev. James L. Denny of
 North Carolina East District’s First Wesleyan Church, High Point, N.C., on Sunday, September 30 2007.
Rev. Denny's pastoral career spanned some 55 years, 16 of which were served at High Point First Wesleyan.
He began his pastoral service at High Point FWC as the
first Pastor/Administrator of the Wesleyan Arms retirement facilities.
He later became Associate Pastor, serving alongside Senior Pastor Dr. Clyde Parker.
Upon Dr. Parker's tragic death in 1984,
Rev. Denny became Senior Pastor, a position in which he served until 1988.
At the presentation, the High Point First family acknowledged the
years of sacrificial service given by Rev. Denny, his wife Rachelle, and their family.
